Cruising Lake Como After spending two months in Tuscany and a brief time on the Italian Riviera the transition to Bellagio was dramatic. The cool colors and soft background of this painting speak to a change in both temperature and temperment. Lake Como quickly became one of my favorite places in a country where it is difficult to choose. Watercolor on Board |

Santorini II From a cafe' overlooking the flooded crater that anchors the many cruise ships that visit I was presented with a view of Santorini that took my breath away. Photographs do not do it justice as the camera is blinded by all the white of the whitewashed buildings. There is a vibrant sense of color that infuses Santorini. It is as much a feeling as a vision. 1st Place Award Winner Watercolor on Arches $700 |

St. Marks - Venice Venice was my first Mediterranean destination and when I fell in love with Italy several years ago. Artists have been making the trek to paint Venice for centuries and for good reason. St. Marks has been captured by most, including Turner and Sargent, two of my favorites. My take attempts to convey some of the motion and life that flows through the Piazza. Watercolor on Board $400 |
