The Blind Pig Pub Sixth Street is an iconic part of Austin, Texas. The night life is an experience that many visitors have on their Austin To-Do List. On a recent field trip to gather material for an Austin Series I've been contemplating, I came across this contrast in time , texture and feel - the old Austin versus the new. Morning Reflections One of the joys of living in Texas is the diversity of geography and texture. Rockport, Texas is a frequent source of inspiration. This scene was captured in the bright morning light as a baitshop employee took a break. The contrast between the color and light versus the calm of the moment attracted me to the scene. Estrella 28 In 2009, I spent several days in and around Lisbon. I was drawn to the sights and sounds of the Baxia, not far from the waterfront. I've done several versions of the trams that prowl these streets. This is my favorite. I can hear the melody of a Fado musician in the sounds of the Baxia.
