Bea's Bait Shop

I have always been drawn to the water. Rockport, Texas is a frequent destination given its proximity to Austin. The shrimp boats and their environment reveal a different side of Texas that I love to paint.

Wapiti Trail Aspens

I returned to my Colorado studio in late September this year, a week later than planned and hit the turning of the aspens at their peak. What a great opportunity to field test my new "plein air" set-up! I spent three days painting on the western slope of Pikes Peak. This view was in Meuller State Park at the Wapiti Trailhead.

Pedernales Falls

This site is approximately six miles from my Texas studio not far from Hamilton Pool. It was captured at a time when there was considerably more water flowing than currently, at the tail end of a severe drought. An addition to my continuing Texas Parks Series, it underscores the beauty we are blessed with in the Hill Country.

Promontory

The area around Eleven Mile Canyon has been the subject of a number of projects. In this case, the morning sun was playing on the rocks below the dam inspiring this piece.
